Mother-Daughter Disaster

type size: [A] [A] [A]

When Eydie Cohen moved back into her mother Elaine's home, she was confronted with a lifetime of clutter in the family room and Elaine's bedroom. Now, the two women have got to sift through a thirty-two years worth of collectibles before their home becomes a health hazard. Armed with respirators and facemasks, the Clean Sweep Team tackles its most challenging project to date and boldly goes where no one has gone for more than three decades: the family room.

After the team performs a massive cleanup, host Tava Smiley tackles an overwhelming sort of the women's stuff. Then, organizer Peter Walsh steps in and really earns his salary when he sifts through Elaine's collections of sweaters, jewelry, art, blankets and dolls. Inside the house, designer Angelo Surmelis transforms Elaine's bedroom from a walk-in closet into a comfortable room where she can relax. And he works wonders in the family room when he creates an entertainment space where the women can enjoy the games of their favorite sports team the Los Angeles Lakers.

Carpenter Eric Stromer has the most fun when he gets to flex his muscles during a closet demolition. But can Peter get Elaine to release even one of her beloved Cabbage Patch dolls? And what family secrets have been lurking under the clutter in the living room? You won't want to miss the miraculous changes in this episode!
