Kate and Duffy's living room and dining room have fallen victim to disorganization. Their living room is weighed down with furniture and art they don't like, while their dining room houses racks of old clothes and a collection of glass fishing buoys Duffy has found over the years. Now, Clean Sweep is here to fish them out of their mess and get their rooms in order.
Host Tava Smiley walks us through the couple’s cluttered living room. The room is overrun with old furniture and forgotten junk. And the dining room is no place to welcome guests. The rooms are cleared out and the team gets to work.
Organizer Peter Walsh goes through the couple's items and soon discovers that Duffy's battle with cancer has had a profound impact on their ability to keep their house organized. Kate is the glue that's held the family together, but as a result, she hasn't been able to focus on clearing out the clutter. Inside, designer James Saavedra turns their ailing rooms into warm, inviting, healthy spaces. Carpenter Eric Stromer constructs a rustic-looking armoire for the living room and distresses it for a more weathered look.
Can the Clean Sweep team breathe new life into this otherwise happy home? Will Kate be able to let go of the last remnants of her life before Duffy? And what happens when Duffy decides to give his cancer treatment mask a blazing send-off? Find out on this tear-jerking episode of Clean Sweep.
