When Nickie and Dan moved in together, they each claimed a room in the house and dug in. Their master bedroom is covered in Nickie's clothes and exercise equipment. Their garage is Dan's domain, dominated by his work tools and sports equipment. Now, Clean Sweep is here to clean up the rooms and give them both a lesson in sharing.
Host Tava Smiley walks us through the couple’s cluttered master bedroom. Dan has very little closet space and doesn't feel at home there. The garage is such a mess that Nickie can't get to the washer and dryer to do the family's laundry. The rooms are emptied, and the Clean Sweep team gets to work.
Organizer Peter Walsh goes through the couple's items, and quickly realizes that Nickie and Dan have drawn lines in the sand. Helping them to see that they each need to give up some control of their spaces, Peter gets them to clear out tons of clutter. Inside, designer Molly Luetkemeyer transforms their bedroom into a romantic haven for the two of them. At the same time, she turns the garage into a functional workspace that will finally house Nickie's car. Carpenter Eric Stromer experiences "pegboard mania" as he hammers out Molly's designs for the garage.
Can the Clean Sweep team help Nickie and Dan find common ground? Will Nickie be able to let go of some of the clothing she never wears? And will Dan be able to weed out the tools he needs from the ones he doesn't? Find out on this his-and-hers episode of Clean Sweep.
