Sherie is a single mom who is working hard to make things better for her two kids, Andre and Joy. But Sherie's busy life and multiple jobs have made it hard for her to keep her house organized. The living room is buried by hair-care products and empty baskets, and Sherie's bedroom is so stuffed, she can't even sleep in her own bed. Good thing the
Clean Sweep team is here to help dig this family out.
First, host Tava Smiley takes us around Sherie's bedroom; we learn Sherie has never had a dresser and keeps her clothes in plastic bins, which makes it hard to tell clean from dirty. The living room is also covered in bins, but this time it's hair extensions and beauty supplies that dominate the room. The rooms are emptied, and the team gets to work.
Organizer Peter Walsh meets our family outside, and they plow through their old furniture, hair-care products and videotapes. Sherie is willing to let things go, and Andre is happy to help, but Joy wants to hold on to her items, no matter what the price.
Inside, designer James Saavedra is ripping the carpet out of Sherie's bedroom. Underneath he's found hardwood floors that will help restore some sparkle to the room. Carpenter Eric Stromer is working with the team to create a new home entertainment center and multiple work spaces so the family can enjoy the redesigned living room together.
What causes Sherie to cry during the sort? What does Joy do to try and save her Barbie dance video? And who buys all those baskets at the yard sale? Tune in to this exciting episode of
Clean Sweep to find out.
