• Large items for your pets can make a room look cluttered. Using a nice cover or hiding them behind a curtain can minimize their impact in the room.

• Gifts from an old flame can be a nice memento of your past, but may not be the best keepsake to have around in your new mate's bedroom, especially if that item is just collecting dust.

• Books can be holders of great memories as well as great information, but holding onto them when they haven't been used in years is unwarranted. Think about donating them to a local library or school.

• Original or valued artwork needs to be displayed. Storing it in a box under your bed hides it's beauty, and can diminish its value.

• If you have large furniture, consider taking off the doors of the closet to help open up the look and feel of your limited space.
