• If a uniform or piece of clothing holds important memories, find a way to display it so the memory can be honored — don't just stuff it in a closet. A shadow box is a great way to display an important piece.
• If you don't like an item that belongs to your partner, see if you can reach a compromise about it. Try to make it a "win-win" situation where you each get something out of it. Setting up a "you vs. me" situation can leave someone feeling hurt.
• Planning for the future is important, but if you bought something for a specific project and haven't done it in months, it's time to get rid of it. If you keep saying "Someday I'll get to it," that day may never come.
• If you have a number of craft projects already in progress, make a pledge not to start any new ones until the old ones are done. It will keep the "to do" pile to a reasonable level, and help you get things finished.
• A folding futon can make a great seating area. It can fold out when guests come, but in its couch form, won't take up as much space as a full bed.
