• Kitchen space is often at a premium, especially if you have a small house. Keeping it clean and organized will open up the countertop and let you really get cooking.

• Having two kids share a room can be hard on organization. Make a game out of putting away toys and clothes, and kids will learn this important skill early.

• A pantry area or closet can be a great place to store large amounts of dry goods and cans. Keep it organized or you run the risk of not being able to find what you need, and doubling up on purchases, thus wasting money.

• If you want to freshen up the look of a kitchen, but can't afford new appliances, try a fresh coat of paint and some new hardware on the drawers. It can really give your space a new look, and keep the costs to a minimum.

• Kids learn by example. Keeping your room neat and organized will give your kids the model to follow, and make your space feel open and free.
