• Color is always a great way to break up a space into separate areas. Use contrasting colors to divide a room into various zones, and stick to the plan.

• If you have items that are only going to be in a space for a limited time, have a designated area where they live and keep track of when they are scheduled to head out. Then you will know when the space will be open and ready for the next item to come.

• If you have a large number of collectibles but a limited amount of space, think about putting them out on a rotating basis. It will cut down on clutter, and keep the space looking fresh and new year-round.

• A love of music doesn't have to take over your space. Keep items like power cords or amplifiers in the garage and bring them out when you use them. Remember to put them back when you're done, or you'll risk adding to the clutter.

• If you plan to re-use empty boxes, cut the tape off them and store them flat. It will take up less space, and leave your rooms clear for other uses.
