Dave works in law enforcement as a detective with a local New Jersey police department. With 18 years of experience in criminal and motor vehicle accident investigation, he has worked on cases ranging from fender benders to homicides.
Dave became interested in paranormal investigations approximately seven years ago while working with a New Jersey group that taught him many of the basic techniques. He participated in a variety of investigations during his five years with the group, researching reported paranormal activity in both residential and public spaces. During this time he acquired the fundamental skills necessary to operate various paranormal detection devices.
In 2002, Dave was asked to work with the Preternatural Research Society. He has assisted the organization in several investigations in New Jersey and has provided extensive background research to validate, support or disprove reported incidents. Dave’s experience as a detective provides him with the tools to properly interact and thoroughly interview those who believe they have had contact with the paranormal.
While he’s a believer, Dave is not frightened of the paranormal. "I’ll park in a graveyard to drink a coffee in peace on the midnight shift," he says. "I’m not scared. They never bothered me. It’s the living that’ll kill you, not the dead."
Dave enjoys his multifaceted work with the society, but he also partakes in several leisure activities, including amateur radio, antique radio repair and gardening. Prior to his career as a police detective, Dave spent 10 years as a radio announcer in the N.Y. metro market, working at several northern New Jersey radio stations, along with four years at Shadow Traffic. He received his broadcast education from Emerson College in Boston and received a bachelor of science in communications. A native of New Jersey, Dave lives in Rahway with his wife, Annette.
