Taking a walk 

Go for a walk when weather conditions permit, and get some extra exercise in.  You can meet the neighbors or spend the time talking to your kids about their day!  Other places to walk are malls, boardwalks and museums or the public high school track.

Going to a park/playground 

Whether it be climbing the jungle gym or hiking a trail, being outside is a great way to get fresh air, use lots of muscles and have fun —besides, parks are usually free!

Putting on music and dancing

This is one of my favorite activities! Let your hair down, move some furniture out of your way, be your own DJ and learn some moves from your kids.  This is a great way to get your heart rate up and MOVE!

Volunteering together

This is a great way to do something with your family that allows you to teach your children humility and about giving your time to make this world a better place for everyone.

Turning off the TV while eating dinner

Spend time together eating and talking to each other — it opens up the lines of communication and sets a routine for dinnertime.
