Franzella was born in Nicaragua and raised in Miami. She says, "My desire to always create something unique let me know at a young age that I wanted to become an architect." Her training began when she was accepted to Design and Architecture Senior High School in Miami. She went on to graduate with a Bachelors in Architecture from Pratt Institute in New York City. While in New York she worked at Pratt Planning and Architectural Collaborate, a non-profit organization dedicated to rehabilitating neighborhoods through urban planning and renovating brownstones into affordable family housing.
Returning to Miami, Franzella worked at two leading architectural firms, Zyscovich Inc. and Wolfberg Alvarez & Partners. As a Project Architect, Franzella has worked on high-rise and mix-use projects where she was exposed to all aspects of a project and coordinated with every discipline in the field. Perfect training for In a Fix, where designers are constantly faced with unforeseen conditions.
When not working on the show Franzella works through her design studio, Franzella Guido Designs. She approaches each project with the same philosophy, how to marry innovative design with technical skill. She explains, "My designs are bold statements of who my clients are and the relationship that we develop together."
