Moving Up
About the show

Have you ever wondered what happens to your home once you move out?

Will the new owners keep your beloved hand-painted mural on the nursery wall? What is the fate of the all pink bathroom you so adored? How about the vintage 1950's kitchen you cherished for all of those years?

When new homeowners move into your old home, they could love it all or rip it all out without much thought! What would you do if you could actually see what they did to undo the blood, sweat and tears invested in your home? Now Moving Up gives you the chance!

Moving Up, a series hosted by noted and charismatic TLC personality Doug Wilson, returns for a second season. We follow a chain of new homeowners who move into one another's homes and begin the design and renovation process. They all have plenty to say about their new digs and the unappealing design demons the past owners left behind! They'll work tirelessly to make their new house their home with numerous design choices and big renovations to implement. After the renovations are complete, the old homeowners will get the rare chance to visit their once beloved homes and see all of the new changes. Will they happily approve of what they see or will they wish that theyhad never come back?

Taste is tested in Moving Up, and host Doug Wilson is there to invoke fond memories, humorous observations and cantankerous commentary …

  Operation Renovation
Dana and Chuck have decorated their four-bedroom colonial with muted tones and simple pieces. New owners Desi, Rick and their son are not thrilled with the decor and have big plans for major demolition and renovation.

  Bachelor Funk to Eclectic Spunk
Bachelors Ibrahim, Jason and James know their house needs work, but they've disguised the damage under piles of pizza boxes and recycling. New owners Matt and Jen want to restore the Victorian twin to its original charm.

From Brother's Rest to Lover's Nest
Heather's new house, in the center of historic Newport, was a weekend home for the three brothers - Carl, Stan and Mark - who used to own it. Heather thinks the place is cheaply decorated and can't wait to give it a more classy feel.

  Wild West to Sunday Best
Lynette and Chris have a unique style but new owners Bill and Paul have a very different design plan in mind. Leslie is moving in to Bill and Paul's old apartment that is filled with yellow walls, which are so bright they give her a headache.
Moving Up
  Harlem Hardware Headache
Helene and Colin are moving up to Harlem, but the apartment they're buying is too masculine for their taste. Current owner Bernard is attached to his sleek bachelor pad, which holds special significance for him. Sad to go, but ready for a larger apartment, Bernard is buying his new home from Addys.

  Calamityville Horror
Rebekka is moving back to her hometown in Maryland to be closer to family. But she didn't get a home inspection, which could mean trouble. Tomi and Ben want to transform a home into a magical hobbit kingdom. And Barbara and Mike are downsizing to Florida.
Moving Up
  Pink to the Brink
Tina and Eric have taken pink to a whole new level which new owner Maria can't stand. Maria has a very simple and traditional style, but new owners Debra and James consider it too "plain Jane." Debra and James are about to have a new baby and are moving in with three other family members who have tastes ranging from "goth" to "frou-frou."

  From Rental to Dental
Anthony and Kathy have built a life and a dental practice in their very pink and very Victorian home. New owners Brenda and Tony can't stand the pink and have big demolition plans. Brenda and Tony feature very modern decor in their apartment, but new owners Sergey and Luba have Old World roots and plan to plant them in their new space.

  Nixing the Naughty Room
Kerri and Chris have dubbed the Indian-inspired guest room of their new home the "naughty room" and plan to nix it as soon as they move in. Steve and Lori have just purchased their first home and have big plans to overhaul the kitchen.
Moving Up
  Faux Finish Fiasco
Nearly every wall in Rosemary and Peter's home is adorned with faux finishes and decorative painting. However, new owners Lori and Doug are faux-finish phobic.
Moving Up
  80's Kitsch to Rustic Niche
Divorcee Ann may get a shock when she sees her beloved floral wallpaper shredded by new owners Joe and Laura. Joe and Laura's old place featured contemporary stainless-steel furniture — but new owners Priscilla and Mike can't wait to get rid of this style!
Moving Up
  Funky Farmhouse
Erik and Christine decorated their four-bedroom Victorian in rich colors with formal details, but new owners Glenn and Lisa want to strip the house of its stuffy décor and give it a "funky farmhouse" style.
Moving Up
  Blasé Beige and Gothic Rage
Sharon and Keith are in for a shock when the home that they so carefully decorated in muted shades of beige is redecorated in blood red, gothic purple, black and "leopard". Margaret and Charlie are a retired couple who decorate with an elderly sense of style and new owners Sharon and Keith want to throw out the old and bring in the new.
Moving Up
  Color-Blind Architects
Derek and Sarah may get a shock when they see their beloved, tranquil, earth-toned home decked out like a nightclub lounge by the new owners. Minh and Martha's old place was decorated in bold, dramatic, adventurous colors but the new architect-owners Jon and Tina, couldn't stand the bright colors!
Moving Up
  Country Kitsch Carnage
Janice decorated her Victorian home with pride — but new owners Brooke and Mark have removed and remodeled all her Victorian touches. Brooke and Mark put their hearts into renovating their old home, but new owners Katie and Mike think the workmanship is "shoddy" and unprofessional. How will the old owners handle the changes when they return to view their once beloved homes?
