Pink to the Brink
small text
large text
Tina and Eric have taken pink to a whole new level — walls, bedspreads and a custom-made pink diamond carpet, which new owner Maria can't stand. Maria has a very simple and traditional style, but new owners Debra and James consider it too "plain Jane."  The couple are about to have a new baby and are moving in with three other family members who have tastes ranging from "goth" to "frou-frou."  This eclectic mix of styles will have to merge in their new home. With all the transformations to the homes, will the old owners even recognize where they used to live?

Debra, James, Stephanie, Joe & Mike
Debra and James are expecting their first baby any day now. They're moving into their first home along with Debra's mother, Stephanie, and her brothers, Joe and Mike. Debra and James have their work cut out for them: they want to decorate their baby's room in a Victorian garden theme and Stephanie plans to gut the upstairs kitchen. Mike wants to paint his teen room like a fantasy castle, while Joe sees the basement as his bachelor pad. With five styles, a big move and a new baby converging all at once, they hope total chaos won't break out.

Maria
Maria and her 2-year-old son are looking for a fresh start. Juggling two jobs and a child forces Maria to hire a contractor to make her house into a home. She is eager to get rid of the old owners' '80s decor. Maria plans to experiment with decorative paint treatments and a lot of color — minus pink. She is also set to gut the kitchen cabinets and diner-style breakfast nook.

Tina and Eric
Tina and Eric have a distinct style that includes pink rooms, wall-to-wall carpeting, black-lacquer furniture and lots of mirrors. Tina is in charge of the decorating — which is just fine with Eric, since his main design concern is making sure there is a TV in each room. They have lived in their house for 10 years with their 7-year-old daughter and are very attached to it. They are on the move to be closer to Eric's job and family. Tina has threatened to design their next house with more neutral colors, but only time will tell.
