Nearly every wall in Rosemary and Peter's home is decorated with faux finishes and decorative painting. However, new owners Lori and Doug are faux-finish phobic; they want to rip it all out the moment they move in to give the house a more modern feel. High-school sweethearts Cory and Erica want a house where they can entertain their many friends and can't wait to convert their new basement into a nautically themed bar. When the old owners come back and see the changes, will they wish they had never crossed the threshold?
Family A: Erica and Cory
High-school sweethearts Erica and Cory married last year. She's a teacher and he's an auto-body painter. The newlyweds had been living at Cory's grandparents so that they could save up for their first home together. Now that they've bought their new place, they can't wait to stamp it with their own sense of style, which they describe as "fun, youthful and classy."
Family B: Lori and Doug
Lori and Doug have an 11-month-old daughter and another on the way. To make room for their growing family, they're moving to a large home just one block away — a house Lori has had her eye on for years! While she dreams up a lot of the plans for their new home, Doug does most of the work. Will they be able to complete the massive renovations in just six weeks?
Family C: Rosemary and Peter
Rosemary has lived in her home for 37 years and is very emotional about leaving. She and her second husband, Peter, are moving to Colorado to be closer to her sons. Almost every surface in the house is covered with wallpaper, wood paneling and faux painting — all of which Rosemary is emotionally tied to. But what will Lori and Doug do about it? And will all the changes be too much for Rosemary to bear?
