Rebekka sees herself as an independent woman, so she's leaving her fiancé and buying a new home to be closer to her friends and family. The trouble is that she didn't get a home inspection, and so her fantasy of a new home quickly becomes a nightmare. Meanwhile, old owners Tomi and Ben have purchased a new home that they plan to transform into a magical hobbit kingdom. What will the old owners make of the changes when they return?
Rebekka
Glamorous 25-year-old Rebekka is moving back to her Maryland hometown to be closer to friends and family. Her fiancé is not happy about it at all and says the move could spell the end of their relationship. The house Rebekka is buying couldn't be further from her minimalist tastes. It's covered in pink paint and has been decorated to look like a fairy tale. Rebekka decided not to have a home inspection before she moved in, which proved to be a big mistake. There are all sorts of surprises in store — from dead rodents and maggots in the ceiling to news that the whole house could collapse at any minute. Will it be cheaper just to tear the whole thing down?
Tomi and Ben
Tomi and Ben are married with two kids; they are moving in order to raise their children in a different area. She is a teacher, and he is a computer programmer. Tomi looks to fairy tales and films like Lord of the Rings for design inspiration as she has a fascination with elves, gnomes and fairies. They can't wait to completely transform their new home from what they describe as "far too formal" into a magical kingdom.
Barbara and Mike
Barbara and Mike are downsizing to Florida, so that they can enjoy their retirement. Their style would be best described as "frilly country," with a lot of flowery wallpaper, teddy bears, dolls and quilts. Unfortunately, new owners Tomi and Ben think it looks more like Anne of Green Gable's bed-and-breakfast and can't wait to make the place their own.
