The hit TV series Dallas may be a thing of the past, but the city is still alive and well, full of rich, famous and fabulous people whose dynamic personalities exemplify the old saying that "everything's bigger in Texas." Get a glimpse behind the scenes when TLC invites viewers into the world of Sheer Dallas — an insider's look at the larger-than-life characters who make up the social strata of this first-class city.

Narrated by Larry Hagman, who played the infamous oil tycoon J.R. Ewing from the long-running series Dallas (CBS, 1978-1991), the six episodes of Sheer Dallas weave together a whirlwind tale of drama and emotion as the cream of the Dallas crop spend, flirt and sell their way through the city's social season.

Meet Carolyn Shamis, the millionaire real estate agent who says, "Real estate is show business and I have it down"; businesswoman and author Dee Simmons and her daughter D'Andra, whose elaborate "Sultan Meets Queen Elizabeth" wedding was the event of the year; and Steve Kemble, the flamboyant event planner who is the party pick for society events in Dallas.

Sheer Dallas taps into the real stories of these outsized personalities usually seen only in soap operas. The lives of the Sheer Dallas characters intersect at Salon Pompeo, the place to be plucked, waxed, dyed and dried in the city. Salon owner Deanna Dipizio rules the roost over a stable of colorful stylists and even more colorful patrons.

Sheer Dallas premieres Friday, April 15, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
