Amy Wynn Pastor
small text
large text

Trading Spaces' handywoman Amy Wynn Pastor has broken down walls both as a carpenter, and as one of the first female carpenters featured on television. She provides viewers with the inspiration to overcome their fear of power tools and complete projects for themselves. With multiple projects from both houses needing attention at the same time, she must maintain a careful balancing act, meeting the specifications of each designer, on time and on budget.

Professional Background:
Amy Wynn earned her bachelors degree from Penn State in 1999. Though she acted in television commercials as a child, she spent most of her young professional life working behind the scenes in set design and construction for both local theatre and traveling Broadway productions.

Personal History:
The youngest member of the Trading Spaces cast, Amy Wynn Pastor was born May 9, 1976 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The youngest of two daughters of a professional freelance musician/educator father and an educator mother, Amy Wynn attended a Quaker school as a child growing up in Pennsylvania. In addition to the heavy lifting she performs on-set, Amy Wynn likes to keep in-shape by practicing yoga.

Favorite Pieces:
A butcher block table built for designer Genevieve Gorder at the start of Season 3 is among her favorites. A chaise lounge built for Laurie Hickson-Smith also ranks as one of her most memorable. A pyramid-shaped fountain she built for Kia Steave-Dickerson is another, but its lack of waterproofing deep-sixed the project before its installation in the homeowners' Egyptian-themed bedroom. Amy Wynn notes, "Though it was fun to build, I wouldn't want it in my house."

Hobbies:
When not working on the show, Amy Wynn enjoys collecting Vampire folklore, meditating and playing with children. In addition to carpentry, she enjoys just about all crafts, from welding to cross-stitching.

Quotable Amy Wynn:
"Little girls are telling me that they want to grow up and be a carpenter. How cool is that?"
