Seattle: 137th Street

In what is perhaps "Trading Spaces"' most famous bad reveal, designer Doug Wilson transforms a drab living room into "Denim Deluxe." He starts with a white grid pattern on chocolate-colored walls. The furniture is covered in brown and ivory denim. Most importantly, Doug builds a facade to cover the fireplace, despite the homeowners' note requesting no change to it. While her husband dismisses Doug's design as "a lot of firewood," Pam walks away during the reveal to sob in private. Unfortunately her mic exposes her misery to the audience. She's since been known as "Crying Pam."
