In this room, designer Dez Ryan uses eclectic accessories and bold colors to turn a conservative living room into a funky gathering space. The vibrant purple over the fireplace is the focal point of the room, and Dez actually paints it with two different shades of purple because she is unhappy with the outcome of the first color. She almost returns to buy a different shade of gray for the wall pattern but runs out of time. The first reaction of her homeowners? "It looks like Beetlejuice lives here." Though unhappy with their room, the homeowners are great sports about the experience and invite the cast and crew back for a party the week following the taping of their episode.
