Savannah: Maupas Avenue

This sunny bedroom already had plenty of natural light, so designer Laura Day decided to spice things up by painting the walls a bright, cheerful yellow. A border was painted along the top of the walls in orange with a small white trim to break up the two colors. A wheat-grass floor mat was brought in to add some texture to the hardwood floors. Next, carpenter Faber Dewar built a new headboard for the bed, which Laura then upholstered in a silk orange-and-yellow fabric to accent the color of the walls. For the finishing touches, Laura added deep-brown window treatments that coordinated with the brown bedding. Funky lampshades replaced the old ones, and matching throw pillows completed the look.
