Common Area: Dorm Hall
Designer Gen Gorder brought a touch of Egypt to the girls' dorm hall at The University of Arizona at Tucson. First, Gen painted the walls a rich burgandy color. Once the walls were dry, Gen painted a shimmery gold stripe along the chair rail of the room. The bar was painted black and white fabric was hung on one wall to give the illusion of a window. Gen updated the girls' kitchen chairs by painting them gold and covering the seats in fabric that accented the walls. The old sofa and chair was covered in vibrant silk fabrics with Egyptian flair. Carpenter Ty Pennington completed the room by building a "bizarre bar" for the girls to entertain with.
