Philadelphia: Bugle Lane

This family room already had a great nautical theme, but the homeowners were ready for a change. Designer Laurie Hickson-Smith began the transformation by painting over the dark, navy blue walls. Laurie's design called for a serene color palette of varying shades of green and ivory. Carpenter Carter Oosterhouse updated the mantel with a sleek design, and the fireplace was freshened up with a coat of ivory paint and a coordinating green border to accentuate the walls. Never one to waste an opportunity to incorporate elegant fabrics, Laurie flanked the windows in cream colored drapes with a green floral print. New chairs were purchased and throw pillows in coordinating colors of green were added to complete the look.
