Virginia: Gentle Heights Court

This small bedroom lacks excitement, but it won't for long with designer Hildi Santo-Tomas in charge. Hildi plans to make the camping experience a year-round activity in this child's bedroom. The plain walls are quickly painted a dark blue to resemble the night sky. Constellations are painted on the ceiling, and a large navy-and-beige tent with a full-sized air mattress is brought into the room. The pièce de résistance is a rock-climbing wall built by carpenter Ty Pennington. The homeowners paint the wall to resemble rocks, then Ty bolts official climbing holds to make the structure safe and functional. To complete the look, a rope is bolted from the ceiling and lanterns are used for lighting.
