Fort Lauderdale: 99 Terrace

Designer Kia Steave-Dickerson's first order of business in this South Florida bedroom is to add a little romance. Boring lace curtains are replaced with heavy drapes that stand out from the wall color and block any and all light from the outdoors. The circular bed is covered with crushed velvet fabrics that are complemented with accent pillows in two colors. For art, Kia attached roses to a board mounted and framed on the wall.

Why did Kia find this reveal memorable? "The homeowner hated my wall of roses so much that she desperately tried to sabotage and destroy my work! She thought it was going to look like a mausoleum."
