This bland living room is in dire need of some excitement, so designer Doug Wilson employs a new trick to give the painted walls some pizazz. Doug uses a glaze to attach sheets of white tissue paper to the walls. This technique adds depth and gives the room a contemporary look. Brown crown molding is added, and new drapes are sewn in yellow and cobalt blue fabrics. The sofa is updated with a slipcover in coordinating blue, and pillows are created to match the window treatments. Doug adds little touches, such as updated lampshades, to give the room a finished look.
