Odd Material: Artifical Turf and Silk Flowers

In one of Kia's very first room makeovers on Trading Spaces, she takes the phrase "flower power" to a whole new dimension. She transforms this attic bedroom by first painting the walls a cheery yellow. Carpenter Amy Wynn Pastor is kept busy building an arbor swing for the room. Kia and her homeowners build a white picket fence to divide the room in half. An entertainment unit is built using lattice and is then painted sea-foam green. Kia takes artificial turf and sews silk flowers to the center, creating a new bedspread. She then lays artificial turf on the floor and places bricks around the bed — giving literal meaning to the term "flower bed." For her finishing touch, Kia creates a border between the walls and ceiling with leaves.
