Odd Material: Silk Flowers

It's Trading Spaces first bathroom, and designer Hildi Santo-Tomas' plans are not of your garden variety. Hildi brings in several hundred silk flowers in colors of red, purple and pink and begins the long process of individually stapling each one to the upper half of the bathroom walls. The bathroom's current beige ceramic tiles are kept in place, and Hildi paints the molding, doors and window trim in a coordinating, shimmery gold. The vanity doors are painted red with gold trim. To complete the new look, Hildi sews floor-length drapes using white fabric with a purple-and-red floral print. The drapes are hung by the ceiling and allow the homeowners a private retreat to their garden tub.
