Attending Emergency Physician Dr. John O'Brien has spent 17 years at ORMC. On his watch, he tends to a young woman who may have seriously damaged her spinal cord in a car crash. "Every time I hear that a young person has been in a car crash, I know it could be one of my children," he says. "I don't ever want that experience. I want my kids to outlive me." And as a new trauma is wheeled through the door, Dr. O'Brien puts it plainly: "Welcome to the Tragic Kingdom."
