Denver, the threshold of the "Wild West," is comprised of an extremely varied landscape, and the medical emergencies reflect just that diversity. Ski slopes and hiking trails are often scenes of serious mishaps, while city streets and construction sites are the backdrops for serious accidents. When injuries occur in Denver, victims are brought to the Denver Health Medical Center, the region's largest level-one trauma center.
