ER-sim is an online medical simulation game, placing you in the action. As the ER doctor on duty, you must save lives.

Choose your patient case — from heart ailments to car crash victims — and snap on the gloves. Examine your patient, conduct image and lab tests, and treat the problem. Over 30 medical tools are at your disposal, including blood tests, CT scan, sutures, and defibrilator.

HOW TO PLAY

1. Register with the game and log in.

2. From the main lobby, click "Play a Case" and select one of the patient cases available.

3. After the beginning animation and the case loads, begin your exam.

4. Select different tools by clicking "TOOLS" in the left-hand nav bar, and choosing trays of diagnostic, treatment, and imaging tools.

5. Click a tool and move to the appropriate body part. Click again to use the tool.

6. If you need clues, reference the Research Computer by clicking "INFO" and "Research Computer." Or click the PDA and use option "2" for a hint to the next procedure.

7. When finished, fill out the patient's clipboard by clicking "INFO" and select "Patient Clipboard." Finally, click sign out on the clipboard to see how well you did.

- Shockwave Player 8.0 or higher
- Flash Player 5.0 or higher
- Internet connection 56k or higher (broadband recommended)
- 233MHz Pentium or PowerMac
- 32MB RAM
- Internet Explorer or Netscape browser 4.0 or higher

QUICK TROUBLESHOOTING

- Users behind firewalls or proxy servers may run into problems or may not be able to access the game.

- Users with web content or ad filtering software may run into problems or may not be able to access the game.

- Users should set browser security to Medium or Medium-Low for best results.

- AOL browser users should disable web graphic compression.

- If you run into problems, try playing without voiceover sound files and see if this resolves the problem.
