Las Vegas: Desert Oasis

Designer Chayse Dacoda has her hands full ... of dirt! The homeowners' yard is a barren lot, and it's a risky proposition to try and create a beautiful outdoor space from nothing. The WYWO crew gets down to business and brings in sod grass to cover the dirt. Carpenter Andrew Dan-Jumbo builds a beautiful canopy for the homeowners to entertain under.

A trellis is built and installed along the retaining wall, while plants like ivy are added to sprout some color into the space. Using sandstone and large square tiles of marble in coordinating shades of yellow and brown, Chayse creates a mosaic-style floor for the center of the lot. Leslie Segrete sews beautiful drapes out of vibrant orange and green fabric, which are then hung on all four sides of the canopy to allow for privacy. The WYWO crew successfully transforms this back yard from barren desert to oasis.
