Annapolis: Silver Maple Mansion

WYWO tackles a first in this episode, a treehouse!

Homeowner Sarah wants to surprise her husband by building him an adult-sized treehouse where he can escape for much needed R & R. Using the huge maple tree in the family's back yard, designer John Bruce and the WYWO crew get busy constructing the oasis. Before they get too far, however, they have to call in the professionals to help trim back some of the tree's larger branches. Carpenter Andrew Dan-Jumbo constructs the floor out of beautiful oak slats. The walls of the treehouse are stained a light oak color, and the trim is painted a natural brown. The homeowner won a stainless-steel slide and an outdoor chair, which serve as the finishing touches.
