Originally from a quiet country village in Wiltshire County near Bath, England, Peter's family grew fruits and vegetables in postwar Britain, where families were allotted small parcels of land. The love of gardening took early root in young Peter as he helped his father tend the flowers and other plants in their small garden.
Bitten by the proverbial bug, Peter continues to further his studies in gardening at the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, and The Royal Horticultural Society in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Peter's eclectic background includes stints as a firefighter, Royal Navy sailor, sculptor, art teacher, real estate developer, butcher and graphic artist; he also has a BA in Education, and both a BA and MA in Fine Arts. This passionate gardener launched his own landscape design company over 12 years ago. The English Gardener specializes in designing colorful, exciting and emotional spaces. When he isn't busy designing or implementing his intricate garden projects, Peter can be found with his wife and three cats enjoying the conservatory he recently built on the back of his house.
