A featured designer on While You Were Out since the show began 2 years ago, Chayse has been transforming interiors since she began rearranging the family furniture at age 6. Her design style ranges from exotic to traditional and all points in between. One recent renovation involved bringing the French countryside to Hollywood to create a home office compound for a former network studio president.
Originally pursuing a study in economics at the University of Pennsylvania, Chayse left finance behind to start her design business in Los Angeles eight years ago. Set design and art direction originally called her name but she found her passion doing residential and commercial interiors. Chayse says there's "more permanence to it." Chayse believes that "design is about incorporating style and beauty into a very comfortable, livable space for a client — every home should have a personality and these days people also really need a sanctuary — I help them to create that." Her philosophies also reach to the far east and she incorporates many principles of feng shui into the spatial design for many of her clients.
It doesn't hurt that she adds humor to her own list of personality traits — honed briefly by doing stand-up comedy "during a slower period. I recommend it, it's very liberating and humbling at the same time."
Although her business is based in Los Angeles, her design business has recently taken her to New York and the east coast as well, and she says she will go anywhere in the world to create a beautiful space. For more information please check her website at dacodadesign.com.
