Check out John Bruce's answers to frequently asked questions!
Q:   How realistic is it for a homeowner to redo a space in their home in just two days?
A:   A fresh coat of paint, rearranging furniture, and removing clutter can easily be done by a homeowner in two days, and can indeed be a dramatic makeover. The number of projects and the level complexity the While You Were Out team accomplishes would be difficult for homeowners unless they had a super crafty family of helpers and a healthy arsenal of tools.

Q:   Any advice for first-timers wishing to start a design project?
A:   Start out with materials that aren't too costly so you feel free to make mistakes, and most important — leap!

Q:   Do you have any favorite places to budget shop?
A:   As a New Yorker, I love to shop at Industrial Plastics, Sheila's Decorating, and New York Central Art Supply.

Q:   What are your favorite splurge items?
A:   Fancy fabric that our handyperson Leslie Segrete helps me pick out.

Q:   Do you have any favorite budget items?
A:   Decorative paper.
