Eric and Mary Jane would love to entertain out on their back deck. The problem ... their deck no longer exists. They tore it down when it succumbed to dry rot, and all that's left is some concrete stumps. Mary Jane wants to change all that, so she enlists the help of While You Were Out's garden designer Peter BonSey to work his magic. To get her husband out of the house, Mary Jane sends Eric to Lake Tahoe with his buddies for a couple of days. While he's away, a camera crew secretly checks in on him, gathering information for the pop-quiz portions of the show. Usually Eric is the master of surprises, but this time the surprise will be on him! Now that Eric's out of the way, Peter BonSey and carpenters Andrew Dan Jumbo and Leslie Segrete begin turning the pathetic patch of pebbles into a vibrant and inviting "fiesta" deck. Building a deck with a tiled bar, window buttresses, and an elaborate water feature is no easy task. As the bare walls turn bright, host Teresa Strasser gets down and dirty planting trees, while Mary Jane and Leslie create handmade pottery.
