Erin wants to transform a bland living room into something really unique for her partner, Noe. In order to do this, Erin seeks the help of While You Were Out's design team while she sends Noe off to the Washington, D.C. rodeo. Both girls are active participants in the rodeo circuit. This weekend, however, Noe believes that Erin is stuck at home to complete a project for her day job as an advertising executive. Little does she know what is really happening at home while she's away.
Back on the ranch, While You Were Out designer John Bruce helps breathe life into the girls' living room. His design turns the large empty room into one filled with conversation pieces. The design calls for clean lines and cool colors and includes original art installations, such as a backlit acetate silhouette mounted high upon a wall, a blown-up photocopy of cowgirl Erin, and a screen-printed image replicated in several colors a la Andy Warhol. Carpenter Andrew Dan-Jumbo makes a stylish bar and matching coffee table while handyperson Leslie Segrete works on making a pool noodle couch.
The many art projects pose new challenges for the crew, but none compare to the challenges Erin's partner Noe faces at the rodeo. During her first competition, Noe is trampled by a steer. She needs medical attention, and her trip to the rodeo seems as though it could be cut short. And a large part of the design is jeopardized when John's acetate silhouette melts in the sun. Will John's daring design for Erin and Noe be ruined by these unfortunate circumstances?
