Richard and Janet love to spend their vacations in Hawaii. Their 21-year-old daughter Kelsey, however, would like to see her parents experience a little Hawaiian holiday back home. To help make this possible, Kelsey contacted While You Were Out to create an Aloha retreat in their bedroom. Designer Chayse Dacoda will transform this 1980s-styled bedroom into a hot Hawaiian cabana. With the help of carpenter Andrew Dan-Jumbo and handyperson Leslie Segrete, the While You Were Out team will create a thatched Hawaiian Canopy bed from their California King, and cosmetically alter the furniture with bamboo. Andrew uses his cabinetmaking skills to turn the headboard into an entertainment center, while Leslie creates a new duvet with matching pillow covers. To get her folks out of the house, Kelsey arranged to send them to Las Vegas for the weekend with her aunt and uncle. And wouldn't you know it—the resort they're staying in will be making a "promotional video" the same weekend. The videographer is actually our Secret Shooter who is there to keep tabs on the folks and report back. With only two days to transform this bland bedroom into a tropical paradise, watch and see if the crew will finish the project before Kelsey's parents return.
