Kimberly is a customer service representative for an insurance company. She lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with her three children and her husband, Alex. Alex is a Boiler Operator at the University of New Mexico. Since Kimberly and her kids have taken over the house, the den has become Alex's room. This "den" is now a converted garage. The room is filled with Alex's dye cast model car collection, many of which he has built himself. He keeps them under lock and key away from his wife and kids. Kimberly would love to create a fun way of displaying his car collection so he can share his cars with his friends and family.
According to Kimberly, Alex has always wanted a blue room. Our designer, Stephen Saint Onge, reaches back in time to the era of fast cars and neon color. What a better way to recreate the feel of the 1950's, then to reconstruct a 1950's diner. By painting blue walls, creating a classic black and white tiled floor, and building an innovative diner counter, Stephen turns this plain converted garage into a car lovers' paradise. With a whole new set of shelving, a diner booth and a lot of car accents, carpenters Andrew Dan Jumbo and Leslie Segrete have their work cut out for them.
While Alex is working on his uncle's vintage cars in Texas, he'd be surprised to know that Kimberly is working on his car collection at home. How will Alex react to find an entirely new display for his beloved collection? Will he be all revved up for his 1950's den turned diner? Watch and find out!
