Shawna wants to create an African adventure in their living room for her husband Curtis. To get Curtis out of the house and sneak the While You Were Out crew in, Shawna has conspired with his friends to take him to a grand prix park in San Antonio, a four-hour drive away. While You Were Out's Secret Cameraperson captures Curtis and his friends under the pretense of making a promotional video on the park. While Curtis and his buddies race around the speedway, designer John Bruce will be transforming their bland living room into something reminiscent of an African savannah. John plans to make a new entertainment center with boards dressed up like African mahogany; he'll also be converting side tables into ottomans using seagrass. For the largest transformation, John Bruce will be covering the ceiling with inexpensive beach mats to give it that thatched effect. The diligent efforts of Leslie Segrete and Andrew Dan-Jumbo help to accomplish the makeover: Leslie makes faux-skin pillows while Andrew builds the entertainment center. But what happens when Curtis can't be accounted for after he leaves San Antonio? He's supposed to be home by 6:00 PM; why hasn't he returned? Tune in and find out.
