Marisol recently quit her job so she could go back to school full time. While she's earning her degree, she's living at home with her mother, Ruth, a piano teacher with 48 students. Marisol wants to express her appreciation by transforming her mother's piano room into a fabulous new classroom, inspired by Ruth's native land — Cuba. To get Ruth and her husband Manuel out of the house for two days, Marisol has told them she's won a trip to a resort in Key West, but can't go due to school commitments. While Ruth and Manuel take the trip, designer Stephen Saint-Onge and the While You Were Out crew will create a vintage Cuban piano parlor.

Stephen's designs place an emphasis on dark wood, with the centerpiece of the room being a large day bed built by Andrew Dan-Jumbo and draped in fine fabrics sewn by Leslie Segrete. Wooden shutters are installed over the large window, and the sliding glass doors are covered with doors that are aged for a vintage feel. Our secret cameraman is keeping tabs on the folks at the resort where he is "producing a promotional video." While Marisol is working hard to give her mother a small piece of her native country, Ruth looks toward Cuba from Key West. Her memories of Cuba are bittersweet, and she becomes emotional. But how emotional will Ruth get when she comes home to find a Cuban-inspired room?
