Amy contacted While You Were Out looking for inspiration for the bland living room her husband was eager to change. We knew that the couple liked to travel and it was left in the capable hands of designer John Bruce to find a theme that would both reflect this adventurous couple and brighten up the space.
John decides to introduce three bold colors to capture the essence of "Australian Landscapes": Blue, orange and yellow.
While Andrew constructs some much needed built in shelves, Leslie creates a unique fabric design for the Aboriginal-inspired pole that will be introduced into the room. Homeowner Amy is kept busy framing Australian vacation photos — the inspiration for the room.
Textures will play an important part in this room. The team will modify the existing furniture with concrete, homemade fossil fish and leaves! There are plans to create sand boxes, marble boxes and lights out of string! But will everything go as planned? When 48 hours are up, what will be completed and what will only exist as nothing more than a design sketch?
Andrew is away on business in Arizona. But our secret cameraperson is hot on his trail and will catch up with him as he enjoys a night out. How well does Amy really know Andrew? How many prizes will she win for the room when all is said and done? And what will Andrew think of his new 'Aussie' living room? Watch to find out.
