John contacted While You Were Out for help in transforming his "hotel room" into an Art Deco oasis for his wife, Amy. The mother-of-two saw the potential of the large bedroom when they first viewed the house. John wanted that potential to be realized with the help of While You Were Out.
Our designer, Chayse Dacoda, is eager to carry out John's wishes. She decides that veneer can be utilized, rather than expensive wood, to achieve the opulent art deco look. Chayse also has plans to use etching and frosting techniques to enhance the glass and mirror she introduces. The team plans to makeover a unique curio cabinet that has been collecting dust in the family's garage. Chayse has conceived a unique way to disguise the TV with old picture frames gathered from John's basement. Leslie Segrete updates these frames with fabric and some of John's own family photography.
John enlisted the help of Amy's parents to plan a trip to Oklahoma while we secretly make over her bedroom. Our secret cameraperson trails Amy as she tries to enjoy a few days away with her children and parents under a scorching Oklahoma sun.
