Tiffany contacted us to help surprise her hardworking mother with a bedroom makeover. Iva has decorated both her daughter and son's rooms, but with working two jobs she just hasn't found the time to transform her own bedroom.
Tiffany wanted to see color and flowers in her mother's new bedroom. Designer John Bruce decided to work these ideas into a tranquil Asian theme. He wanted to create a quiet and relaxing environment for Iva to escape to during down time from her busy work schedule. The While You Were Out team are in for a busy 48 hours with what John has planned!
John introduces Tiffany to a unique, quick and easy way to press flowers. Existing furniture will be utilized and tied into the theme by adding floral and rice paper centerpieces. Leslie Segrete has a few plans for beautifying the existing, and never used, ceiling fan. She'll also help John create a faux leaded and stained glass bathroom door. Meanwhile carpenter Andrew Dan-Jumbo will be taking care of some intricate lattice work.
Tiffany enlisted the help of her mother's friend Lori to whisk her off to a spa in Missouri for a couple of days. We'll be checking in to see how she's enjoying her stay.
While Iva picks out a nail polish color and enjoys having her nails painted, Tiffany is presented purple paint to cover the walls and panics that her mother may disapprove! What will Iva think about such a bold color? And will she feel at home in her new Asian inspired bedroom?
