Jack's life revolves around his family, his work (he's a nuclear physicist), and his unwavering pursuit of knowledge. Gabe, his 32 year old son, would describe his dad as a true 'renaissance man'. But like many a scientific genius, Jack's home office space is one big comfortable mess of papers and books. With the help of designer John Bruce and the While You Were Out team, the room is transformed into a Harvard-style library with a beautiful paneled ceiling. As usual John's got some ingenious ideas for the room that will appeal to Jack the scientist, including holograms and a pen that will float in space (he hopes!)
To get Jack away from home for two days, While You Were Out sent Jack to Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral where he has the time of his life meeting astronauts and getting the full VIP tour of the Shuttle launch pads and Apollo/Saturn V Center, which houses the rocket that took man to the moon.
Back home it's a case of "all work and no play," but then the sound of drums fills the air. Suddenly the carpenters find themselves happily distracted from their work and host Evan Farmer's hasty improvisation of a curtain rod for a drum major's baton has everyone, quite literally, in a spin.
