Ronald is a regular Mister Mom. The divorced Dad has a full-time job, four kids to raise and still manages to get a kick out of cooking. It's not just a necessity — it's a hobby. Almost every night he prepares a home cooked meal for the whole family and the living/dining room is the venue for many happy gatherings. The food may be good, but daughter Melanie reckons the room needs to be updated. She hates the flower print borders, boring brown paneling and worn out carpet that has seen better days.
Melanie knows her father dreams of the day he can buy a remote country cabin, but he's not ready to head to the woods just yet. So she thought the design experts from While You Were Out could bring a little bit of the country to West Seneca New York.
But first the team conspired to send Ronald away on a dream vacation for anyone that loves food — a couple of days cooking at the world renowned American Culinary Institute.
With her father safely out of the way, Melanie and the team, led by designer Chayse Dacoda, get to work on bringing a touch of the Adirondacks to the main room of the house, including a new fireplace mantel, bright shinny hardwood floors, a custom-made antler chandelier, a fresh coat of paint and a one-of-a-kind, hand-made coffee table. Their objective is to give a man who puts everyone before him a room he can proudly show off to his big circle of friends and family.
