The wail of sirens, flashing blue lights, officers of the law in constant attendance, a K-9 straining at his leash and the chilling clunk of the jailhouse door — prepare yourselves for a WYWO that makes police dramas look tame in comparison.

It all started innocently enough: Captain Diane Scanga of Kirkwood Police Department, contacted WYWO — and it wasn't about a parking misdemeanor. The crime she wished to discuss was the appalling state of Kirkwood's recreation room. The dreary basement room was used 24/7 by the 60 officers at the downtown precinct, and was about as inviting as solitary in Sing Sing.

But Captain Scanga knew that the WYWO team of crack pro's, led by that wily operator, John Bruce, could turn the space around. He assembled the finest make-over gang in the country: Evan 'Fingers' Farmer, Jason 'Muscles' Cameron and Leslie 'Sew-Sew' Segrete. The Chief of Kirkwood, Jack Plummer, had tried for years to make the rec room more 'homey' for his team. He'd even donated furniture from home and scoured yard sales in the cause. Captain Scanga arranged for her Chief to pay a visit to the Kansas City Police department to observe them in action — knowing full well that if her boss didn't like what he saw on his return he would probably lock up Bruce and Co. and throw away the key.

Will the WYWO team receive commendations all round or will their mug shots be circulated throughout Missouri with strict orders to detain and question?
