Josh Temple is a proud husband and the father of a 2-year-old angel named Ruby Eyre. He vacillates between being a 2 and 5 handicap golfer, depending on how much he is working. He has a B.A. degree in history from U.C. Santa Barbara and worked in construction for seven years. In addition, Josh has been a golf instructor, high-school soccer coach, camp counselor and bartender. Josh claims, "all these jobs somehow tie into my history major, so my professional life hasn't been a total waste."
Josh has skydived in the Hunter Valley, outside Sydney, Australia; rafted down the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe (and bungee-jumped over Victoria Falls); and shot 74 at the St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland.
In 1995, Josh started doing improv with Bay Area Theatresports in San Francisco. From that experience he was able to move off-stage and onto television and film ... to do mostly commercials and voice-over work. He moved to Los Angeles in 2000 and studied and performed at the Groundlings.
Josh has appeared on Will & Grace and Curb Your Enthusiasm. The latter uses an improvised format and is one of Josh’s all-time favorite shows. In 2003, Josh hosted his first show, The Ultimate Treehouse, for Discovery Channel. Discovery later hired him to do 20 episodes of Dude Room, a reality build show. He’s also co-hosted a show, called Gear Tech, with his sister and worked on a series, The Visitors, for Country Music Television. In addition, Josh is doing a second season of The Clubhouse, a golf show, for Resort and Spa Network.
Josh is excited to join the crew of Backyard Nation and can’t wait for the opportunity to travel the globe, or just the San Fernando Valley, and give folks mind-boggling backyards!
