TLC & CAMPBELL’S®
HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS ORIGINAL RECIPE CONTEST
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are answers to frequently asked questions about the TLC & Campbell’s® Home for the Holidays Original
Recipe Contest. We suggest you print this page for future reference.
When is the Contest?
The contest begins on November 24, 2008 and ends on December 31, 2008.
Who can enter?
Any legal resident of the United States who is 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and has Internet access as of
November 23, 2008 may enter.
What’s the Contest about?
The contest provides entrants an opportunity to share an original recipe for a dish they make for friends and family during
the holiday season and tell why this recipe is a family favorite. Entrants will be competing for the chance to win the $1,000
cash Grand Prize.
Are there any special requirements for the recipe?
Each recipe must have a name, and ingredients in the recipe must be provided in exact standard U.S. measurements.
The recipe should include complete step-by-step preparation and cooking instructions, cooking times and temperatures,
number of servings, serving suggestions and any other pertinent information. Also, the recipe must be the entrant’s own
original work, created by the entrant, and may not have previously won a sweepstakes, contest or other promotion. Previously
published recipes (such as those appearing in major cookbooks, in magazines, in newspapers, from food companies,
publicized on the Internet, and winners in national contests) will be disqualified, unless the recipe entered features changes
considered significant by the judges. In addition, recipes must not have been awaiting publication or submitted for publication
consideration during the period of this Contest. The statement which describes why this recipe is a family favorite may not
exceed 75 words in length. Entries must be completed in English.
How do I enter the Contest?
• Provide all the information required, including full name, complete address, email address, telephone number and
date of birth and insert recipe and your written statement.
• Submit your entry so that it is received by Sponsor's server by 11:59 PM ET on December 31, 2008. Sponsor’s
server is the official clock for this Contest.
How often can I enter?
You may enter as often as you wish, but each recipe and statement must be different, must meet all entry requirements
and must be submitted separately.
Will my recipe be posted online?
Periodically throughout the Contest Period, TLC may, at its sole discretion, select recipes to be featured at TLC’s website.
Being so selected will have no bearing on whether a recipe submission is chosen as a winner once the Contest judging is
complete.
What else do I need to know before I enter?
Here are some other things you should consider before submitting an entry:
Once submitted, entries become the sole property of Sponsor. No correspondence about the Contest will be entered into nor
will entries be acknowledged or returned. Entrants assign the Sponsor all rights of ownership, reproduction, and use of entries
for any purpose whatsoever without compensation or further permission, including but not limited to an irrevocable and
perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide right, in all media (now known or later developed) to assign, use, publish, edit, adapt, modify,
alter, reproduce, distribute, display, copyright, create derivative works, transfer or assign, or otherwise exploit entries, for
commercial or non-commercial use, and without compensation to the entrant. By entering the Contest, each Entrant waives
any and all rights he or she may have to the entry. To the extent Entrant has any rights in the entry, the entrant assigns all
such rights to the Sponsor by entering the Contest.
Entrants further warrant and represent [a] that their entry does not violate any law or regulation, [b] that their entry does not
violate or infringe any right, of any third, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, such as but not limited to,
rights of copyright, trademark or patent, or rights of publicity and/or privacy, and is not defamatory, slanderous or libelous or
portray any person in a false light, [c] that the entry is entrant’s own original work and that she owns or controls all right, title
and interest in the entry, including but not limited to its copyright, [d] that the no portion of the entry has been accepted for
previous publication or submitted in any other competition or contest, [e] that the entry does not contain any virus, bugs, or
other deleterious material, and [f] that the entrant has followed these Official Rules. No portion of the entry may contain,
among other things, the trademark, trade name or logo of any third party, and cannot contain any material that is protected by
copyright. Submitting an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, group or organization will make you responsible for
any legal action the legal copyright holder might take against you.
Any entrant may be required to obtain written permission and/or provide releases from anyone named in the entrant’s contest
submission, as necessary and applicable, as solely determined by Sponsor to post the entry and/or to otherwise use the
entry in accordance with the requirements of this Contest, and the advertising, promotion, and publicity of this Contest, and
Official Rules. The form of any such permission or release will be as solely determined by, or acceptable to, Sponsor. Failure
by Sponsor to request such permission(s) and/or release(s) is not a waiver of Sponsor’s right to require same, and entrant
(and entrant’s parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor) acknowledges that failure to comply with any such request may
cause disqualification. By entering, entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Contest Entities from any action or liability
resulting from the publishing of his/her entry and/or use of the entry as otherwise permitted by these rules.
How will the winners be determined?
Entries will be judged by Promotion Mechanics, Inc., an independent, qualified judging organization, based on the following
judging criteria:
• originality of recipe (30% of total score)
• appeal of ingredients (30% of total score)
• creativity of written statement (30% of total score)
• clarity of instructions (10% of total score)
The entry that receives the highest cumulative score will be named the Grand Prize winner. In the case of a tie, the tie will
be broken by the highest originality score. If the originality scores are tied the judges shall reconsider the originality scores
until tie is broken.
When will the winner be notified?
The winner will be notified by email, phone, postal mail and/or express mail, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, on or about
January 23, 2009.
How can I find out who won?
If you’d like to know who won, just mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to be received by January 31, 2009, to: TLC
& Campbell’s® Home for the Holidays Original Recipe Contest Winner List, PMI Station, PO Box 750, Southbury, CT
06488-0750.
Why is the Contest available only to U.S. residents?
Different rules and regulations associated with games of chance in other countries make it difficult to administer contests
outside the United States.
What should I do if I can't reach the Contest web pages when I try to visit?
Come back and try again another time! Many Internet sites experience "traffic jams" from time to time. Refreshing the
page may help. However, if you have problems connecting to all web sites, contact your system administrator; you may have
a problem at your end.
I'm having trouble entering the Contest. My computer seems to be too slow or times out repeatedly. What should I
do?
From time to time, the Internet experiences heavy periods of traffic. The slowdown in the registration process is often
caused by a large number of consumers trying to register for the Contest at the same time. If you are experiencing "time-outs"
while trying to register, we suggest that you wait a few minutes or try again at a later time.
I'm a Macintosh user. Will I have trouble entering the Contest?
No, the Contest is equally accessible through Macs and PCs.
Where can I send feedback about the Contest?
You can send general feedback and suggestions to online_sweepstakes@discovery.com.
What if I have read all of the FAQs and I’m still having a problem entering?
If you are still encountering difficulties entering, you can send an e-mail to online_sweepstakes@discovery.com to inform us of your questions.
Please make sure you include a detailed description of your situation, your full name and the type of browser you use. We
will make every effort to get to the bottom of any technical questions that may arise.
Please see Official Contest Rules for more details, legal disclosures and entry requirements.
