Even thinking about what to say here makes my eyes tear up. My mother has not survived a terminal illness, nor has she started a non-profit organization, but she is the most amazing woman I have ever known. She is the mother and sole supporter of three children and an injured husband. She works full-time plus additional sales on the side, and comes home to take care of her family and home. She expects a lot of us children, but no one could ever feel more loved. I never had a rebellious age because I had nothing to rebel against; I was always treated like an adult and a worthy person. My mother has never had the time or the money to take care of herself very well, but she deserves everything to make herself feel as wonderful as she is. I love my mom so much it makes me happy to even try to do something great for her.

My mom is totally amazing. She gardens all summer and has canned enough food to feed an army. She shares with the church and her entire community and everyone just loves her goodies!
Debbie of Tennessee writes...
She survived the depression, 8 brothers and sisters, 3 wild children and now she is dealing with 7 grandchildren. At 72 she just got remarried to her childhood sweetheart.

My Mom has been so helpful helping me get ready for my August Wedding. Who needs a wedding planner when you have the Mom who does everything and knows everyone? ;)

My mother has encouraged me and supported me throughout every aspect of my life. She is the very essence of who I am and who I will be in the future. I love her more than words can say.

For her it is not so much that she accomplished great things but she taught me the great life lessons that give you a sense of accomplishment.

My Mother is the most amazing woman that I know. She is stronger than anyone I have ever met. Every challenge that has come her way in her lifetime she has handled with grace and amazing strength.
Erika of Georgia writes...
My mom is so amazing because she is a lighthouse of inspiration. She has taught me that I can be or do anything that I set me mind to and that there is no limit to my success. As a nurse, she is the ultimate comforter. As a mother, she is my number one cheerleader. She will not hesitate to drive three hundred miles for two days just to be the first one to give a standing ovation at a competition. She is the first one in line to give me a great big hug and to pick my spirits after a disappointing first runner up. She is a pillar of strength and unchanging source of love not only for my brother and I but also for everyone that she comes in contact with.

What makes my mother amazing? I guess it is because she has always kept my best interest in mind. Or maybe it is because she always stood by me when everyone else left. No, I think what makes my mother amazing is that she has not only allowed me to be her daughter, but her friend.

I have been blessed to marry into such a wonderful family. From the first time I met my Mother-in-law she has made me feel like her own daughter. I hadn't even met her and when I walked in the door she had her arms out to hug me. When I lost my own mother she was there with a tear in her eye. And when I see her hug her grandchildren it always reminds me of our first meeting. But most of all her hugs come from the heart. Unfortunately she is starting to have memory loss and I hope to make the rest of her Mothers Days special. But as long as I remember the feelings she has given me is what counts. So I can pass them along to my four children. So THANK YOU MOM for always making us secure and loved in your presence, you are the best!

I love my mom very much and miss her like crazy when I am away from her at college. I would just like to tell her how much she means to me, because I don't tell her often enough.

My Mom may not be a super hero, rock star, or a queen, but she is a hard working loving lady who means the world to me. I love her with all my heart and she deserves to be treated like a super hero, or even a queen, even if it is only for a day.

My mom is amazing because through all the adversity we have been through together she always presents a solid front. My biological father left when I was six and she stepped up and let me dream and did her best to help me realize all of my goals. Sometimes she went without just to let me take that dance class or be on that soccer team, whatever I needed she always provided. She went on to marry a wonderful man that I now call dad, one of the best decisions of her life! My mom is a wonderful role model and my best friend!

Everyone who meets my mother, Lucy Majors, smiles. She teaches music to children in elementary school, and everything reminds her of a song. Waking up in her house is like a Disney movie, complete with singing, birds chirping, etc. She has not always had everything as perfect as I would wish for her, but she smiles her beautiful smile and sings in her soprano voice anyway. Though we didn't always see eye to eye when I was growing up, we became close friends when I went away to college. I adore her, and not a day goes by that I don't wonder what I did right to deserve such an amazing woman to be my mother.

My amazing mom has supported me through my last four years of battling ovarian cancer. She laughs and cries with me, gives me a safe place to be angry or scared, and prays for me daily. Her remarkable spirit keeps me up and ready to fight this fight while her rock-solid faith is a testimony to me constantly.

My mom is the greatest mom. She is M-merry, O-optimistic, and M-my mom. She is a very strong minded and determined woman that I look up to. Even when times get rough, she always holds her head up high. She is my motivation. To her, it isn't about receiving; it's about giving and loving others. She always donates to the less fortunate and always lending a helping hand. She believes in putting God first, and I hope to one day be just like her. She smiles even when she is down or in pain. She's taught me to work with what I have, not to beg or cry. She's caring, special, giving, strong, ambitious, a great cook, and she's my mom.
Bridget of Minnesota writes...
My stepmother is wonderful. When my mother passed away three years ago she helped my brother and I through the tragedy. She is always willing to do for everyone. She has three adult children of her own but yet she never failed to make my brother and feel comfortable and part of the family. She is truly a wonderful mother to her own children as well as my brother and I.

My Mom is amazing! While most of her friends are complaining about their aches and pains, she is an accomplished runner, biker and rollerblader (something she took up at 50). We enjoy running races together, and even buy special socks for race day, which are decorated with the theme of the race. We proudly call ourselves Chicks!

My mom just passed away this February. What I miss most about her is her wonderful sense of humor. No matter what, she always found the funny side in life even though she had a hard life growing up during the Depression and trying to raise five kids; sometimes being a single parent. We never went without -she saw to that. And she always made time to take us to the theater and museum. She saw the importance of the Arts in a child's education. I miss her and love her lots.

She didn't kill me when I got pregnant at 17. She supported me through it all and I graduated high school valedictorian and am one year short of my BA in Management. I could not have done it without her help.

My mom is a person I highly respect and look up to. She believes in me as I believe in her. If I had to decide on who was the best achiever and most determined on making a positive difference in life; I would say it was her. With the loss of my sister, my mom has developed a national organization (which became a member of Homeland Security) that is dedicated towards saving lives, preparing all bystanders in life-supporting techniques and responsible for training over 400,000 children in CPR and First Aid.
